Brian posted a blog post about the Fairy Photo Shoot on our site, Surrealmuse Studios.  It includes a slideshow with some behind the scene shots along with some of the fairy photographs that I'll be using a reference material for future paintings.  Check it out and feel free to leave a comment.  :)

Out of the Void

0 min read
I have come out of the void to create once more.  Got a Goddess and Gods art exhibit that I'm creating paintings for so expect more checking in now. Spent all day painting Nyx, Goddess of the Night.  Feels like I ran a marathon! Brainstorming on other goddess inspired painting ideas.  The one that is pretty much ready to go is Aphrodite's gift to Eros.  Ones that will take some work include Fairy Goddess of the Birds and Arachne, Goddess of Weaving Destiny. The paintings are possible thanks to my birthday present, a Nikon D90.  Credits also include my husband, Brian, that shots the reference material shots, and Georgette Khaziran, the hair

4,280 pageviews?   The last time I was seriously active here posting artwork and cheering on fellow artists, I think I remember surpassing 1,000...maybe 2K so it's funny to see it up to 4K without seriously being active on the site. To catch everybody up, my portrait series in soft pastels started in 2003 and met it's peak in 2005.  In 2006, I finally started to start exhibiting my artwork at local art galleries and special venue shows.  While I still created portraits here and there, the main focus as been on wanting to finally share my artwork with the world. Oh, my! Thanks for all the favs!!! Great to be back...I've been needing to interact with fellow artists for awhile now.

Life is good. Brian just graduated with his bachelor's in Culinary Management, and cooks even better now with all the things they taught him in school. As for me, I've been working a zillion hours (which is good given the state of our economy), but trying to get back into the groove and paint more. My goal now is to make Saturdays my day to paint. Trying to get ready for an upcoming exhibit on Gods and Goddesses that's in October. Also, I recently became the Pastel Artist Event Coordinator at a local gallery. How about you?

Natalie
Interacting with artists is a must, cause it motivates you, and as an artist, this is a challenge!
:D

I am MORE than glad to hear that all is good in your life, AND that you are seriously getting back into creating!
And your work, is as good as it has always been, and I know what I am talking about, :D, and you have evolved.
